CALI is a Delhi based non-profit organization.
The intersection of art and law is an area of growing significance in contemporary India, encompassing a broad spectrum of legal disciplines, from intellectual property to commercial and criminal law.
The organization was created to foster knowledge exchange, promote research, and offer essential resources and legal training to artists, legal professionals, policymakers, and cultural institutions. The organization gives free or low-cost legal advice to artists and arts organisations all over India on a wide range of arts-related legal and business issues.
CALI stands as a critical hub for understanding and navigating the growing complexity of art law in India, providing a space for engaging, interdisciplinary conversations on the legal dimensions of the arts.

The protection of cultural heritage, the preservation of rites, the repatriation of stolen works of art and the related legal and factual assistance in preparation and negotiation is another component of CALI.
Together & Getting in touch
An important part of CALI’s work is bringing together different people, nationally and internationally, to jointly form art law. Whether archaeologist, gallery owner, lawyer, museum director, etc., the connection between people is the most important thing.
